Point Score Rules


Medallion Awards

Gold, Silver and Bronze Medallions will be awarded for achieving 55% or over at CCDA competitions March to December each year.

Rules

  1. Owners of horses must be members of the CCDA.
  2. HC performances will not count.
  3. Medallions are awarded as follows:-

    • Gold Medallions will be awarded to horses achieving one 55% or over at 5 competitions of the year.
    • Silver Medallions will be awarded to horses achieving one 55% or over at 4 competitions of the year.
    • C. Bronze Medallions will be awarded to horses achieving one 55% or over at 3 competitions of the year.

  4. If a rider enters 3 tests at a competition and achieves 55% or over in all 3 tests it is still counted as only one score per competition. To achieves another 55% score the horse must compete at the next competition and so on.
  5. If more than 2 tests are offered at the same level at a competition (eg. 3 test at preliminary or higher) then only the test nominated on the entry forms will count for percentages. This ruling also applies for the

Horse of the Year Awards

Points will be scored throughout each year from March to December competitions.

Rules

  1. Owners of the horses must be financial members of the CCDA
  2. Each horse will be given points for placing in the top 6 provided the scores are 50% or over. (Scores under 50% will not count).
  3. HC performances will not count
  4. Points are scored as follows:-

    • 6 for 1st
    • 5 for 2nd
    • 4 for 3rd
    • 3 for 4th
    • 2 for 5th
    • 1 for 6th

  5. If there is an equal placing, for example =4th then you take 3 points for 4th and 2 points for 5th, add them together for 5 points then divide by 2 which will give each horse/rider 2.5 points and so on.
  6. There is to be a minimum of two competitors starting in any test for points to count or half points will be awarded if only one horse/rider eg 3 points for 1st place.
  7. To be eligible for the annual point score and Horse of the Year, both the horse and the owner must be members of the CCDA and they must compete at a minimum of two competitions to be eligible for the trophy.

Level Trophies

Rules

From Preliminary to FEI trophies will be awarded to the Champion of each level at all competitions throughout each year.

  1. Riders to not have to be members of the CCDA.
  2. Each horse/rider must be entered in both tests at each level except for FEI which may only offer one test, however if there are two FEI tests offered then both must be entered to win a level trophy.
  3. If there are three tests offered each horse/rider must be entered in the 2 nominated tests at this level.
  4. Each horse/rider will be given points for placing in the top 6 provided the scores are 50% or over. (Scores under 50% will not count).
  5. Points will be awarded as follows:-

    • 6 for 1st
    • 5 for 2nd
    • 4 for 3rd
    • 3 for 4th
    • 2 for 5th
    • 1 for 6th

  6. If there is an equal placing for example =4th than you take 3 points for 4th and add 2 points for 5th, divide by the 2 equals and each horse/rider will earn 2.5 points and so on.
  7. Add each horse/rider's points together and whoever has the highest points is the winner.
  8. In the event of a final tie of points the Champion will go to the horse/rider with the highest % when the two tests are added together.
  9. HC entries are not eligible.
  10. There is to be a minimum of two competitors starting in each test for the results to count.
